Editing
As a child, I was often found alone in the study reading the dictionary. This lead to two things: very white skin, and a lifelong love of words. As an editor, I have worked on full-length books on medicine and psychology, as well as autobiographies, art criticism, short fiction, business presentations and all kinds of web copy.
My editing work has included:
- Various journals, magazines and college publications for The Royal College of General Practitioners, as part of my role as assistant editor
- Web copy for Ribbon & Gourd, a U.S.-based green real estate company
- The Muscle Retention Revolution, the upcoming fourth book by U.S. conditioning expert Ori Hofmekler
- The incredible autobiography of Cheech Marrero, whose remarkable life included two jail terms and almost four decades as a spiritual devotee
- The Tao of Rejuvenation, a book on health and healing and Chinese medicine, published in January 2009
- Web and sales copy for paste, an Australian design firm who also designed this website
- Various essays, manuscripts and book proposals for U.S. online magazine and publishing imprint Dharma Cafe as part of my role as project editor
- A manuscript on experimental psychology by French-Canadian psychologist Paul Boutet
- Proofreading and editing a book on world mythology for German imprint Delius Books (in partnership with National Geographic)
- Various short stories for the NYC literary journal Ballyhoo Stories 50 States Project, as assistant editor
- The autobiography of Danny Sheehan, a celebrated U.S. constitutional attorney who took part in some of America's most pivotal court cases, including the Pentagon Papers and Iran-Contra trials
- Parts of two books on film and architecture for Delius Books
- Business presentations for Walter Lipka, executive with Berlin public transport authority BVG
- Various projects, including essays, assignments and educational materials for advanced ELT students in Kyoto, Japan, as part of a freelance editing business
- Publicity material for a number of Melbourne-based experimental music artists.
